Your Wellbeing as an Educator

You may be supporting young people within your education setting who have experienced bereavement and this can be a difficult and sometimes traumatic baseline to manage or support from. It can be difficult hearing the events that have led to feelings of bereavement and recognising your own thoughts and feelings within this caring and supportive role is massively important.

Self-care and supportive environments within education have never been more important with staff regularly managing difficult and stressful situations on a daily basis. Therefore, it has never been more important to be reflective on your own feelings and needs before engaging in support of others. In this rapidly changing world, taking check of what is and isn’t within your control is also important to manage any feelings around anxiety that occur as a result of the unpredictable nature of the world you are living and educating within.
