A range of trauma-informed tools and materials to support your work with children and young people around mental health and wellbeing.
We provide a selection of resources including:
- Articles and Blogs
- Activities and Posters
- Lesson Plans on Key Themes
- Sharing Practice
We have organised our resources by themes: mental health and wellbeing, bereavement, grief, loss and change, and trauma.
BEC strives to collaborate on the development of resources with a range of practitioners and organisations working within education as well as with children and young people directly. We are also working with BATOD who support us in making BEC’s resources more accessible to users (Details about the Association can be found here). Another relationship we have established is with the University of the West of England, contributions have been made by academics who are experts in their fields.
We hope that these resources provide staff, children, and young people with a structure/scaffold to explore complicated emotions and feelings.
We have not always specified the ages for our booklets and activities as they may be suitable for a range of developmental stages. Wherever appropriate the addition of props will support learning more effectively than the activities on their own.
You can also find other resources such as podcasts and recorded CPD in our Training and CPD section of the website.
At BEC we greatly value any feedback received; connecting and listening to staff about what they want and need enables us to provide content that is responsive to both the needs of children and young people and the staff supporting them. Please complete this Feedback Form if you have accessed any of the BEC resources (booklet, activity/poster, article/blog, podcast, Wakelet, recorded CPD/Spaces for Wellbeing event, etc).
