Session 1: Education staff are supported in managing their own mental health and wellbeing
A: Understand we all have mental health and recognise that our wellbeing might be at risk
B: Develop strategies to actively manage our mental health and wellbeing
This session, for education staff who hold a leadership role, will build on tried and tested tools and resources which support the mental health and wellbeing of staff including Barnardo’s in-house Wellness and Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) process, Barnardo’s Recharge Programme, and our experience of implementing the PATHS Programme (a whole-school, evidence based social and emotional learning programme). The session will give participants an interactive experience and offer an opportunity to help them reflect on what will help to sustain them to manage the stresses and strains of life in relation to their work.
At the end of the session, participants will have:
- A plan that identifies activities or strategies to boost their mental health and wellbeing and recognises triggers that challenge this.
- Access to a programme of relevant CPD
- A Wakelet linking this learning to current theory, practice and resources on offer from a wide range of sources.
- Access to a local Community of Practice (facilitated by Barnardo’s) within their Regional Improvement Collaborative area, where they can connect with others for further discussion, support and sharing.
